Sylvia’s End of season 2-odds winners

Another month, another international break and of course Sylvia’s International odds selections. Thankfully, it’ll be the last we’ll be seeing in a while. What a let down it is from the highs and upsets we’ve seen in club football in recent weeks.

Also, beyond the international fixtures, there are some lower leagues we’ll be visiting. It’s been a long time since my last visit to them.

Now let’s get right into it.

USA v Mexico

A huge rivalry exists between these two sides. Sort of an irony especially taking into consideration the fact that on the global stage, Mexico is generally viewed as the bigger footballing threat than the USA.

Their head-to-head record especially the most recent, also gives the USA a narrow advantage. The hosts have won 40% of all their fixtures (40) against Mexico who have 33% (5).

Although Mexico are currently top of the group in their race for a place at the World Cup while the US are second and just three points behind, both teams are in comfortable positions for now but it’ll still be a competitive and hard to rugby game.

I fancy the Americans to win this one by a very narrow margin for Sylvia’s International odds selections

Tip: 1x @ 1.43 odds

Score prediction: 1-0 @ 7.10 odds

Uruguay v Argentina

Uruguay seem to have lost their mojo with their aging Golden Generation.

While Argentina may also have an aging squad, they seem to be in a better place. Hence their huge nine points advantage over their rivals.

Argentina also haven’t lost to Uruguay since October 2013.

Uruguay haven’t lost in their last three games. In fact, they lost they last two on the bounce including a 3-0 loss against this same opponent. Argentina on the other haven’t lost in their last six – 5W and 1D. It seems Lionel Messi and his compatriots won’t be stumbling to the up coming World Cup like they did the last time out.

Tip: 2 @ 2.24 odds

Montenegro v Netherlands

Netherlands seem to have regained themselves and have returned to the more recognizable Dutch team we got used to seeing. They are back to rubbing shoulders with the big boys in Europe. Unfortunately, Montenegro isn’t one of them.

I expect a domination from the visitors who have won their last four and scored 17 in that time while conceding just twice.

Tip: Away SH O1.5 @ 2.31 odds

Accrignton v Plymouth

A trip to the English championship for the first time in like forever.

About a quarter of the games have been played this season but Plymouth have done a good job in keeping themselves very much in automatic promotion places, just one point behind leaders Wigan Atletic. The hosts are 12th.

The are tied on head to head stats 5W and 6D apiece. As is typical in League One, it’s a tough place to be, expect few goals and a victory for the visitors, however, I’ll play it safe with Sylvia’s International odds selections.

Tip: x2 @ 1.41 odds

Tip: 0-1 @ 9.70 odds

Sheffield Wednesday v Gillingham

It’s eight versus nineteenth with nine points separating the two sides.

There is no recent head to head record between them. So this will be a normally unpredictable game.

However, based on current run of form, I’ll bank on the home team to get the job done.

Tip: 1 @ 1.67 odds

São Paulo v Flamengo

Tough draw.

This game is unpredictable especially on form due to their historic rivalry.

Flamengo may be high up the table in third place while the hosts are in a disappointing 14th place, but it’ll be a tight one. São Paulo have the advantage, historically but it’s not certain they’ll enjoy another three points from this one.

One thing I’m sure of is that there will be lots of goals as the Brazilian Seria A generally tends to witness a lot of that. Both sides score and tend to concede significantly as well. In fact, they have conceded 29 and 28 goals, respectively.

However, the visitors are so potent that they’ve scored 54 times while the hosts have 24.

I expect lots of goals.

Tip: Second Half O1.5 @ 2.30 odds

Armenia v Germany

Literally David versus Goliath situation.

Germany will continue to harvest goals at the expense of Armenia.

Tip: Away highest scoring half – Second @ 1.90 odds

Spain v Sweden

Tough game, this.

Two teams in a very good run of form and just two points apart with Sweden ahead at the top of the table.

It’ll be a tough game. Definitely one to watch.

Tip: GG @ 2.42 odds

Malta v Slovakia

Tip: 2 @ 1.49 odds

All predictions culminate in a total of 274.55 odds.
