Sylvia’s End of season 2-odds winners

It’s good to be back with Sylvia’s Best 30 odds selections after the positivity from last weekend.

Correctly calling five out of six outcomes isn’t so bad especially with single ticket 2+ odds for our big stake punters and the very 8.50 odds from my correct score prediction! My only correct score prediction for the weekend, by the way.

As I always advice, play over 2+ odds as single slips, if you can, as much as your risk appetite. I’ll continue to try to bring you the closest to sure tips, on this platform.

Hope you guys didn’t sleep on that one. Still weird how the one game that was almost 100% certain was what ruined a close all green slip. Sigh.

All the same, I’ll take last weekend as a big W and run into this weekend with it. So here we go!

Feyenoord v FC Emmen

The basement team will be making the trip down to de Kuip on Saturday following a surprise draw last time out at FC Groningen – the game that stopped our all green last weekend.

This weekend, Emmen make a second consecutive trip but this time it’s to a more experienced Feyenoord who sit ahead of Groningen with a four points advantage.

The hosts haven’t lost against this opposition in their last five meetings. Feyenoord drew their last game against PSV.

They’ve scored at least once in their last five home games while converting nine in their last three matches. Potent.

While the hosts have a goal to game ration of a little over two goals per game having scored 53 goals in 26 matches, bottom of the table Emmen have shipped in 55 goals during that time. Their last seven games have ended in over 2 goals per game.

Expect a home victory but with an added market on goals.

Vitesse Arhem v Willem II

This Sunday encounter will see Vitesse play host to Willem II at the Gelredome.

Available stats point hugely in favour of the hosts and there is little reason to doubt it.

After 26 games, the hosts are 12 places and 50 points apart, a world of difference. However, in football that’s not always enough reason. There is more.

The hosts have won the previous five matches between the two sides dating back to November 2018. Only three out of their 17 games have not seen at least two goals scored.

Vitesse have scored in their last five matches, while Willem have done so in their last four. Both teams have also been potent recently and have scored seven and six times, respectively in their last three matches.

Chances of a draw is also very slim with the visitors already set to prosecute this encounter without four of their first team stars. Despite Vitesse also set to miss Bazoer and Bruns through suspension, they seem better positioned for this one to claim all points available. They haven’t drawn in their last eight matches and this doesn’t look like the ideal opposition to force that.

Nice v Marsielle

Big game fixture in the French top flight, this one.

Although both teams are separated by nine points and seven places on the log, expect an entertaining encounter.

Head to head stats puts it strongly in favour of the visitors who have 12 wins and seven loses in 22 meetings against Nice. They’ve won the last seven matches against Nice.

However, the current form may create some doubt about their abilities going into this one. Marseille have two wins and two losses in their last five games, an exact replica of Nice’s recent form. Nice will be without six of the first team stars through injuries.

In their last three matches, both teams have scored three and five goals, respectively.

Marseille haven’t drawn in their last four matches.

Lille v Nimes

Easily a one way traffic expected in this game when table toppers Lille host Nimes.

As for Nimes, being in 19th place is one thing, then being an injury riddled Nimes side in 19th place is another.

Lille have failed to lose against this opposition in their last four meetings – 3W, 1D. They’ve not lost to them, ever. Although the home side have won just two of their last five games, they are better position to claim victory here, comfortably.

Although the home side have scored in their last three home matches at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, they are still tight fisted in scoring and conceding goals with 49 goals for and 17 against, after 29 matches.

Even against an extremely leaking Nimes defence that has conceded 55 this season, I don’t expect lots of goals. Who will score? They both have an average of one goal apiece in their last three matches.

Sylvia’s Best 30 odds selections Tip: 1 @ 1.35 odds

Lyon v PSG

Clash of the weekend.

It’s third versus second, with both teams tied on points.

The hosts have a near perfect record going into this one, at least better than the visitors. Stats from the last five games shows Lyon should be in better spirit with three wins and two draws while PSG have a draw less.

Both teams will compete for three points to take second spot behind Lille. It’s an important clash. Unfortunately, PSG could be without star player, Neymar who is still nursing an injury.

Lyon have scored in their last 11 matches while PSG are on a five match run. In the last three games alone, PSG have scored five while Lyon have seven. Potent. However, that’s not enough reason to assume a harvest of goals.

Taking into consideration what’s at stake, I expect both teams to approach this with caution and in fact, the difference to be made by just the odd goal.

Although these two haven’t drawn any of their last 10 games against each other, I’m inclined to expect just that result. At this point of the season, every point can make the difference.
