It’s time for another journey to the Australian A-League since the success from the last time.

The A-League is a very unpredictable league and rarely witnesses dominance and harvests of goals.

These two teams have almost identical records on head-to-head stats. However, the visitors sit just three points and two spots above their hosts. The last encounter between them ended in a 2-2 draw.

With 24 out of 26 games played ahead of the Championship playoff, expect a tight encounter. Both teams are comfortably in the play off places.

Wellington Phoenix v Perth Glory

It’s seventh versus eighth.

Both teams mathematically still in the race for the playoffs but it’s difficult to see who they’ll dislodge.

Perth have turned their season around just in time for this business end of the season with four wins and a draw in their last five games. The hosts have two wins and thread draws in that time.

This will be a tough game and I fancy it ending in a draw.

Western Sydney v Brisbane Roar

Another game too tight to call.

Head-to-head stats stands at 11/9 apiece. Both sides have found the bag of the net at least once in seven of their last eight encounters. Between them is the second best attack in the league with 41 goals but also the worst in defence with as much goals conceded, 41,  (Sydney) and fifth best attacks, 34, and second best defence, 23 (Brisbane). If I had to pick a winning team, I’ll pick the visitors because of the defensive discipline.

However, for Sylvia’s 2 odds bankers, I’ll rather go for goals to be scored and I fancy Brisbane to break the deadlock.

This looks like a non match with the hosts enjoying home comforts as well as an 11/3 advantage in h2h stats in 17 meetings.

Slavia Prague v SK Dynamo 

First of all, this is a high scoring league. With the hosts top of the table with as much as 83 goals, almost triple the number of games played at 33, expect a comfortable home victory for Slavia Prague.

Their 83 points is 12 points ahead of their nearest challengers.

The last three matches involving these two sides saw at least three goals scored. I’ll put my money on that to continue, thanks to the free scoring striker, Jan Kutcha.

Brentford v Swansea

It’s the championship play off. The single most expensive football match. Beyond that, there is the ticket to the big boys league. A lot is at stake. Fans will be present.

They finished the season in third and fourth places, respectively. Brentford have the odds in their favour but history has thought us it’s not always so and experience matters a lot.

As is typical of the championship, it’ll be a difficult game.

The favourite shave been here nine times before. Will Brentford make it 10th time lucky? Will that unwanted piece of history upset they psychology? Time will tell and it’s too much of a risk to put my money on the final outcome.

Both big goal scoring teams with a total of 135 goals between them this season. I fancy both teams to score at least once within regular time.
