Sylvia’s End of season 2-odds winners

Once again and for the third consecutive week, Sylvia’s 2+ green odds checked out and in emphatic fashion! Feels very good. Congratulations to our big stake punters with the big appetite.

Cumulatively, I correctly called the outcome of five out of six games at a total of 20 odds, that’s not so bad. However, I’m not satisfied as the hunt for a cumulative win as soon as possible continues.

With the season gradually coming to a close and all teams desperate for as much points as they can get their hands on, games will most likely become more difficult to predict. But I’ve got you.

So here we go again.

PSV Eindhoven v FC Groningen

It’s five games to the end of the season, and while the hosts are above in second place, it is them that seem to have more to play for as they continue to attempt to secure their position for a place in the Champions League qualification round ahead of AZ Alkmaar, also tied with them on points.

The visitors are in sixth place.

In their last 22 encounters, the stats put PSV ahead with 12 wins and 7 draws. A significant edge.

While the hosts have a lot of absent players on their hands with as much as five first team stars set to miss out on this clash. However, despite having absentee players, PSV have had a better run than their visitors and it’s on this I’ll make my Sylvia’s 2+ green odds prediction.

Tip: 1 & O2.5 @ 1.77odds

Ajax v AZ Alkmaar

The last time the visitors defeated the Dutch champions-in-waiting was about a year ago, in March 2020. That was just before the league was abruptly cut short. However, since then, they’ve met twice and the serial title winners have claimed victory both times, each time without conceding a goal.

This is not to say the visitors are a walkover. They are third in the league but with a wide margin of 12 points between them and their hosts.

Ajax are also twice ahead of them in terms of head to head. Although the hosts have won just two of their last fixtures, for Sylvia’s 2+ green odds, I fancy a home victory in this one.

Tip: 1 @ 1.55 odds

Metz v PSG

Expect the Parisians to continue to mount a challenge for the title on Lille especially as the league leaders travel to Lyon this weekend.

The visitors have also won all previous nine encounters against this opposition. To make matters more bleak for the hosts, they have not won in their last six games across all competitions.

Despite this gap in quality, I don’t expect lots of goals from Mauricio Pochettino’s side as he may yet rest some players ahead of their must-win Champions League encounter with Manchester City on Wednesday.

Saint-Etienne v Brest

For my 2+ odds for this weekend, I pick this Ligue Un encounter set to take place at the Stade Georffroy Guichard on Saturday. So, you may want to put your money on this early kick off.

Not much separates these two sides on the league table, with the hosts two points and two places ahead of their visitors. Also on head-to-head, it’s four wins and 2 draws in favour of St Etienne in their last nine encounters. Two of those loses have come in the last to encounters.

However, on current form, I strongly fancy the hosts to get the job done.

Last weekend, they were unlucky to come out with a 3-2 loss against PSG and that should give them a big boost going into this game. They’ve won three of their last five games (both loses coming agains PSG and Monaco), while Brest are with just one win in 10 games.

Brest are also quite safe from relegation battle, for now, thus it’ll be difficult to find motivation.

Their last two games witnessed five goals scored, perhaps, it may be safe to expect some of such if the problem wasn’t that Etienne struggle to find the back of the net yet are expected to win.

Tip: 1 @ 2.10 odds

Lyon v Lille

This is a very tasty one for Sylvia’s 2+ green odds as it may just be the weekend that Lille finally lose their spot at the top of the table. With PSG breathing down their necks, the pressure is on them to go out and get a win.

However, Lyon is no easy place to visit. The hosts, also in the race for a Champions League place, desire all points available. What an interesting clash this is set to be.

Ironically, the visitors have had a superior head-to-head, but it remains to be seen how they’ll manage this pressure. At the business end of things, they’ve won two and drawn two of their last five league games and managed a cup loss against PSG somewhere in between. How heavy will that psychological blow be? We are watching it unfold.

A loss by more than one goal for the visitors can also see both teams exchange position and force Lille to go from first to fourth.

Tip: 1x @ 1.31 odds

Angers v Monaco

Monaco have continued their rise to the top of the Ligue Un table, and quite notably without some key players including Cesc Fabregas who has been out through injury.

They are just two points from the top and are certainly in the conversation for the title. Something big to play for as they hope both of PSG and Lille slip up.

Tip: 2 @ 1.52 odds

Rennes v Dijon

Tip: 1 @ 1.37 odds

Lens v Nimes

Tip: 1 @ 1.76 odds

All predictions culminate in a total of 35.88 odds.
