Sylvia’s 2-odds millionaire bangers welcomes you to another weekend of punting, where the focus will be on midweek games.
Thankfully, as at the time of writing this, the teams that’ll be participating in the Champions League have played their weekend league games, this gives room for better perspective and analysis of the different teams and what to expect from them.
Here we go and may the odds be in our favour!
Barcelona v Girona
Tip: 1&O1.5 @ 1.34 odds
Correct score: 2-0 @ 6.50 odds
Benfica v Inter Milan
Tough tie.
Contrary to what many may assume on paper, this tie is a difficult one to predict in terms of who the final winner will be, even for Sylvia’s 2-odds millionaire bangers. Safer to stake on goals.
Tip: GG @ 1.93 odds
Manchester City v Bayern Munich
Big tie.
Probably the most high profile of the ties and expected to be the most competitive. Bayern Munich have just appointed former Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel as their new manager and they appear to be raring to go. They looked rejuvenated, especially Sadio Mane who has been hailed by Tuchel for his part in their one nil victory over Freiburg.
It’ll be interesting to see how they fare against the blue side of Manchester when they clash on Tuesday.
Tip: GG @ 1.59 odds
Real Madrid v Chelsea
Aha! That tie that Chelsea fans hate to see the most right now. Most will be happy to see a walkover to avoid going through the pain of what they feel will be an inevitable humiliation.
It’s noteworthy that this would be the fifth of six meetings between these two sides in the last three years. It can be likened to a league affair. Recall that an underperforming Chelsea side side two years ago, on their way to winning their second Champions League title, defeated Real Madrid over two legs in the semi final. Subsequently, a year later, Real won over two legs in the quarterfinals.
It’s important to note that both ties in the last two years were won by slim margins.
For this weeks tie, I don’t see any magic coming from Chelsea.
Tip: 1 & O1.5 or Home score both halves @ 2.77 odds (golden tip)
AC Milan v Napoli
Two Italian sides very much familiar with each other. Surprisingly, Milan dismantled Napoli in a four nil victory at Naples just ten days to this European fixture on April 2. Although it’s a different competition and surprise results tend to happen in similar cases, Napoli is way too strong and hungry to let their best chance of winning the Champions League slip, having recorded their best showing in the competition yet. I wouldn’t bank on that league outing being a dress rehearsal for Napoli.
Victor Osimhen.
Tip: 2 & O1.5 @ 3.20 odds
Feyenoord v AS Roma
Tip: x2 @ 1.62odds
Manchester United v Sevilla
Tip: 1 @ 1.43 odds
Juventus v Sporting Lisbon
Tip: O1.5 @ 1.33 odds
Toulouse v Lyon
Tip: x2 @ 1.46 odds

Are ready for Suo’s 8-odds Super Weekend Bangers? Because that is what you get on this very special Easter weekend of football action.
Without further ado, let’s dive into it
FULHAM v WEST HAM
We kick Suo’s 8-odds Super Weekend Bangers off with a London Derby featuring teams plagued with similarly underwhelming performances of late; -10th-placed Fulham welcome relegation threatened West Ham to Craven Cottage this Saturday.
The Cottagers, in their last league endeavor, slumped to a 2-1 defeat to another relegation threatened outfit, namely Bournemouth away at the Vitality Stadium. On the other hand, the Hammers were indeed ‘hammered’ 5-1 by Newcastle on home turf in a truly disappointing result which reiterated the increasing relegation concerns.
The hosts will be without their manager Marco Silva and top goalscorer Aleksandr Mitrovic after both were sent off in Fulham’s FA Cup defeat to Manchester United last month. The latter is already serving a lengthy 8-match ban. This is a huge blow to a side desperate to snap a 4-game losing run while David Moyes’ charges will aim to push further away from the drop zone with a much needed win.
The H2H between both teams in their last five meetings has Fulham winless in all those games. They have lost thrice and played out draws in the other two games. The reverse fixture earlier this season ended in a 3-1 win at the London stadium.
PREDICTION: It’s a tough call but given the dwindling performances of both combatants of late, coupled with the lack of any defensive prowess in both sides, we expect each team to get on the score sheet. So we predict a GG outcome, that should go for 1.86 odds at your preferred bookmakers, @Bestbet360.
TOTTENHAM v BRIGHTON
Keen to head back into the top 4 and back into the Champions League qualification spots, Tottenham host another side with European hopes when they square up against Brighton at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend.
Spurs began life without Antonio Conte last time out away at Everton. There, they succumbed to pressure from the home side and conceded a late equalizer courtesy of a long range strike from Michael Keane and then had a man sent off to compound the woes of the Whites.
For Brighton, a fine run of five games undefeated in the league saw them climb up to sixth (6th) on 46 points, four adrift of Spurs who are fifth with 50 points. A win for Roberto de Zerbi’s men could see them reduce the deficit to a single point and further boost their ambitions of playing European football next season.
The H2H between both sides in the last five meetings shows the hosts edge it slightly, winning three and losing the other two to the Seagulls. The reverse fixture earlier on ended in a 1-0 win for Spurs.
PREDICTION: Spurs have a new manager in the person of Christian Stellini who is eager to impress and get back to winning ways. But they face a stern test against truly formidable foes who have a penchant for playing free flowing attacking football. We feel both sides will get on the score-sheet, hence a GG outcome at 1.62 odds @Bestbet360.
LIVERPOOL v ARSENAL
The biggest game in the English Premier League this weekend and for Suo’s 8-odds Super Bangers, takes place at Anfield. An out-of-sorts Liverpool hope to rekindle any hopes of a top four finish when they face the herculean task of halting Arsenal’s charge to a first League title since the 2003/2004 season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have not won a league game in their last three attempts and most recently played a drab, goalless draw against Chelsea, snapping their two-game losing run in the process.
Meanwhile Arsenal continue their charge as the side currently enjoy a 7-game winning streak in the league. They also impressed last time out against Leeds United, putting four past their guests and have scored 4 goals each in their previous two games heading into this gargantuan clash.
The H2H between both sides in their previous five meetings shows Liverpool, regardless of their recent struggles have the better share of results. They have won three, drawn one and lost one against the Gunners. The reverse fixture was the first time in five games that Arsenal claimed maximum points, winning that game 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.
PREDICTION: Anfield is no easy ground for visitors, Manchester United can attest to that and even though Arsenal head into the clash as favorites, Liverpool have enough firepower to take down foes on their turf. While we might be skeptical of Liverpool’s chances against the best team in the league thus far, we expect a couple of goals at both ends, so we predict a GG outcome at 1.51 @Bestbet360.
FIORENTINA v SPEZIA
Fiorentina look to continue their impressive climb on the Serie A table and head back into the European qualification spots when they host Spezia at the Stadio Artemio Franchi this weekend.
Vincenzo Italiano’s men currently enjoy a 9-game winning run in all competitions, with five of those games won in the Seria A. They beat Inter Milan 1-0 last time out and head into this game 9th on the table, nursing dreams of playing European football next season.
On the other hand, the visitors have endured a poor run, coupled with injury concerns amongst other contributing factors. They lie just 6 points above the drop zone on 25 points and risk demotion if there isn’t a drastic change in fortunes..
The H2H between both sides in their previous five clashes shows that this particular fixture has mostly tilted to the side of the hosts in recent times. La Viola have won four and drawn the other as Spezia have failed to win against their opposition in those games. Fiorentina won the reverse fixture 2-1 earlier on this season.
PREDICTION: Fiorentina are arguably the most improved side in the Serie A this point in the season and are brimming with a lot of confidence ahead of this tie. We firmly believe they will claim the win at home against Spezia, hence we predict a win for the home side at 1.43 odds @Bestbet360.
REAL MADRID V VILLARREAL
Our final game of Suo’s 8-odds Super Bangers sees Real Madrid continue the chase to reduce the deficit between them and league leaders Barcelona when they host Villarreal this weekend.
Following a 2-1 El Classico defeat to Barça, Real earned a statement win, decimating Real Valladolid 6-0, before getting revenge over their rivals in a 4-1 aggregate win over the Blaugrana in the Copa del Rey semifinal. They now head into this home clash heavy on the confidence boost.
Meanwhile, Villarreal, 15 points behind Los Blancos in 6th, head into this tie on a 2-game winning run. They have scored 5 goals, conceding none in the process but will have all to play for against a Madrid side who are by no means goal shy at the moment.
The H2H between both sides in their previous five meetings shows this particular tie hasn’t been one-sided but Madrid slightly edge it with one more win than the visitors. Madrid have two wins, while the Yellow Submarines have just one win, while the other two games ended in draws. The reverse fixture earlier this season ended in a 2-1 win for Villarreal who might fancy their go at a double over the current champions.
PREDICTION: Villarreal head into this clash in good spirits but will face very dangerous opposition in a Madrid side who have scored 10 goals in their last two games. Given how Los Blancos will be keen to ensure Villarreal don’t do the “double” over them, we feel the hosts will be too good to lose against the visitors, hence, we predict a straight win for the home side at 1.53 odds @ your favorite bookmakers, Bestbet360.
This week’s entire selection leaves you with a sempe ACCA combo of 7.95 odds thanks to your preferred bookmakers Bestbet360.
Remember to always bet responsibly and may the odds surely be in your favor this weekend. Kpoko!!!!!

What is better during international week than International 13-odds Winning ACCA? The Boom Banker’s 18 odds Home Wins picks for last weekend was only binned by PSG who suffered a surprising 2-nil loss at home to Stade Rennes. On the back of the painful Cut-1, the Boom Banker returns this midweek with a special 13 odds Home Wins ACCA.
With the top leagues now on break for the first FIFA international break after the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Boom Banker’s well researched special home wins selections for this midweek are largely drawn from international friendly games and UEFA Euro 2024 qualification matches.
Let’s play along!
DENMARK VS FINLAND
Boss Kasper Hjulmand hopes his Denmark side can put a disappointing FIFA World Cup behind them as their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign gets underway. The manager admits his side’s performance at Qatar 2022 was “not good enough”. They failed to win a single game (D1, L2), despite being well-fancied to go deep into the tournament after an impressive UEFA Nations League campaign.
The Red and Whites are looking to extend their superb record against Scandinavian rivals Finland, to whom they have lost just twice since 1966 (W16, D8).
Despite that poor H2H record, the Finns have fond memories of playing Denmark, against whom they registered their first-ever victory at a major tournament (1-0 at Euro 2020). Manager Markku Kanerva seems to think a repeat result is unlikely, however, after describing the Danes as “the early favourites” to win the group.
The Eagle-owls’ recent form would back up that sentiment. They have picked up just two victories across their last 13 outings (D5, L6), both of which were against Montenegro. They also have a worrying poor away record in away European Championship qualifiers, with their six victories in 21 matches since mid-2006 all coming against teams outside of FIFA’s top 30 in the rankings (D6, L9) – Denmark are currently ranked in 18th place.
Backing Denmark to secure a comfortable home win at 1.30 odds on BestBet360 for International 13-odds Winning ACCA
SLOVAKIA VS LUXEMBOURG
Slovakia will be hoping for a more prosperous international footballing campaign in 2023, having seen a gradual decline in their international presence in recent years. This is emphasised by their regression in the FIFA rankings every year since 2018. They now find themselves outside the top-50 (54th), with their struggles summarised by arriving here with a five-game winless streak (D3, L2).
The Falcons have been flying high in one particular area in recent years though, and that’s their achievement of qualifying for the last two European Championships. They’ve made a habit of getting off to a fast start in that endeavour, and manager Francesco Calzona will hope their Euro 2024 qualification attempt follows suit, as Slovakia have won the opening match of their last four Euro qualification campaigns, keeping a clean sheet in the most recent three.
The stage will be shared with Luxembourg in Group J, who are subtly making their presence felt on the international circuit by consistently holding onto their top-100 FIFA ranking for the last six years, currently sitting 92nd in the world. But manager Luc Holtz now has the tough task of achieving what none of his predecessors have been able to – guide Luxembourg to their first ever appearance in a major tournament!
Slovakia to secure a routine home win comes at 1.49 odds on BestBet360.
NORTH MACEDONIA VS MALTA
Having made their major tournament debut in Euro 2020, North Macedonia will hope to continue their improvement during their Euro 2024 campaign where they’ll aim to qualify from a tricky-looking Group C containing Italy, England and Ukraine. All are ranked inside FIFA’s top-30. The big names likely won’t faze the hosts who defeated Italy enroute to reaching the 2022 World Cup qualification play-offs, but a solid start against the group’s lowest-ranked side in the group, Malta, will likely prove crucial.
Malta are regulars in the qualifiers but are yet to make it to the finals of any major competition, which perhaps justifies why on paper they start this qualifying campaign with slim hopes of progression. It’s hard to find many silver linings for Malta, who have historically failed to excel on the Euro qualification front, losing a whopping 84% of their 112 Euro qualifiers.
Such a poor record is largely due to their defensive generosity, with Malta conceding an average of 2.81 goals per game in Euro qualifiers. Things have notoriously been worse on the road for Malta, as the world’s tenth-smallest country by area have lost their last eight away Euro qualifiers ‘to nil’ including a 7-0 trouncing at the hands of Spain in their last such game.
North Macedonia to prevail at 1.34 odds on BestBet360.
IRELAND VS LATVIA
Republic of Ireland play host to Latvia on Wednesday evening in what will represent their first international fixture of 2023.
This game will act as the final preparation for the two nations’ respective Euro 2024 qualifying campaigns.
Having been drawn in a qualification group with France, Netherlands and Greece, it is fair to say that the Boys in Green have been provided with an immensely difficult proposition when considering that they have lost four of their eight matches.
Although noteworthy draws with Portugal and Belgium have been achieved under Kenny, his best win is a 3-0 demolition of Scotland, highlighting that Republic of Ireland need to go up several levels to challenge for a return to the European Championship.
They ended last year with fixtures versus Norway and Malta, losing out 2-1 to the former before registering a 1-0 win over the latter on away territory.
From Latvia’s perspective, they enjoyed an inspired UEFA Nations League campaign during 2022, collecting 13 points from six games to earn a return to League C.
While they started their group with four successive wins, they concluded it with a 2-1 defeat at home to Moldova and 1-1 draw in Andorra, results which almost cost them promotion.
This is unlikely to be anything other than a home win for Ireland at 1.27 odds on BestBet360 for International 13-odds Winning ACCA

The BoomBanker’s 20-odds Home Wins picks for last weekend was only binned by the ‘unfortunate’ duo of Manchester United and Marseille who were both held to heartbreaking goalless and 2-2 draws by Southampton and Strasbourg respectively. On the back of the painful Cut-2, the Boom Banker returns this weekend with a sweet 18 odds Home Wins ACCA.
With the avalanche of games to choose from, the Boom Banker’s well researched Home Wins selections for this exciting weekend of football action are largely drawn from both the top and lower leagues across Europe.
Let’s play along!
BORUSSIA DORTMUND VS FC COLOGNE
An exciting draw in the Revierderby last time out wasn’t the ideal for Borussia Dortmund in their pursuit of the title and with that coming after being eliminated from the Champions League, Edin Terzic’s men are in need of an immediate resurgence.
Dortmund began the year with ten straight competitive wins and that’s the sort of form they must get back to if they’re to oust Bayern from top spot. Luckily for them, they welcome a Cologne side yet to win away from home in 2023, perhaps just the tonic for a bounce back to form.
Dortmund have some influential players coming back from injury ahead of this game including the likes of club legend Marco Reus. Should they feature, they’ll boost Dortmund’s chances of bolstering their rock-solid record against the Billy Goats across the last 22 home H2H encounters (W17, D4, L1).
Cologne haven’t even managed to score in any of their last four league games, a worrying slide indeed for a side that could yet be dragged into a relegation dogfight should they not pick up soon. They at least hold a relatively big cushion for the time being though, so defeat here wouldn’t be fatal.
This is unlikely to be anything other than a home win for Dortmund at 1.46 odds on BestBet360.
ARSENAL VS CRYSTAL PALACE
Crystal Palace made the surprise move to sack Patrick Vieira on Friday and their first fixture following the Frenchman’s departure couldn’t be more difficult, as they head to Vieira’s former club and current league leaders Arsenal.
The Eagles sit 12th on the table but are just three points clear of danger and they have been in woeful form. They have not won a match in 2023, and suffered a third successive defeat as they were beaten 1-0 by Brighton in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Arsenal may be a little deflated after their Europa League campaign came to an end but the Premier League is their priority and it is still hard to see them dropping points against the Eagles.
The Gunners have won their last five league games and have scored at least three goals in four of those,
Arsenal to win at 1.26 odds on BestBet360 comes handy.
PSG VS STADE RENNES
PSG went through a rocky period in the middle of this season, winning just three of their seven league games between the 1st of January and the 11th of February, and have since been knocked out of the Champions League against Bayern Munich, but a home game against Rennes on Sunday gives them an opportunity to earn their fifth league win in a row.
Les Parisiens have won four league games in a row since their loss to Monaco, scoring 13 goals in that time, and will look to keep up the goalscoring form this weekend. As good as they have been going forward, PSG have looked shaky in defence, with six goals conceded in those four games, including conceding three to Lille in a 4-3 victory, and two to Nantes in a 4-2 win.
Rennes came into the new year with just three losses on their record, but have lost five of their eleven league games since the turn of the year, and are now at risk of dropping out of the European qualification places, with Lille poised to take advantage.
Backing PSG to secure a comfortable home win at 1.48 odds on BestBet360.
LENS VS ANGERS
After rolling over Clermont 4-0, Lens will look to stay in the Champions League berth when they welcome Angers to their Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Saturday evening.
Les Sang et Or impressed in their last league match, and they are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Angers. Belgium forward Lois Openda should keep his place in the starting XI after scoring a hat-trick at the weekend, whereas all Jean Louis Leca, Facundo Medina, Wesley Said, Steven Fortes, and Adam Buksa remain in the recovery room.
Les Scoistes, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom with only 10 points on their account and given their four-match losing run in the French top flight, we do not believe that the visitors are capable of grabbing something from the game. All Ilyes Chetti, Faouzi Ghoulam, Ali Kalla, and Ulrick Eneme-Ella should miss out with injuries for the visiting side
Lens to secure a routine home win comes at 1.24 odds on BestBet360.
BENFICA VS VITORIA GUIMARAES
High-flying Benfica continue their charge for a record-extending 38th Primeira Liga title as they lock horns with Vitoria de Guimaraes at the Estadio da Luz on Saturday.
Having failed to win any of the last 20 meetings between the sides, Os Vimaranenses will be desperate to get one over the hosts and make it back-to-back away wins in the league for the first time this season.
With just 10 games to go before the 2022-23 campaign shuts close, confidence is brewing in the Benfica camp as they look increasingly likely to end their four-year quest for the Primeira Liga crown.
The 37-time Portuguese champions made it six wins on the bounce last Sunday as they steamrolled Maritimo 3-0 when the sides squared off at the Estadio do Maritimo.
Benfica, who have won eight consecutive league matches since January’s 2-2 draw against league rivals Sporting Lisbon, currently sit at the summit of the Primeira Liga table with an eight-point cushion over second-placed Porto.
Vitoria de Guimaraes, on the other hand, were sent crashing back to earth in the Primeira Liga as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arouca when the sides met last Saturday.
Benfica to prevail at 1.21 odds on BestBet360.

Its another weekend to enjoy massive winnings with these Suo’s 9-odds sure bankers
MANCHESTER CITY v BURNLEY
Manchester City continue their FA Cup campaign this weekend aiming to book their slot in the semifinal of the competition when the blue side of Manchester are reunited with club legend Vincent Kompany. The Dutchman is now manager of Championship leaders Burnley in what promises to be a truly entertaining encounter at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s City come into this tie full of confidence after the 7-0 decimation of Bundesliga side RB Leipzig at home in midweek to move to the quarterfinal of the Champions League. They are the clear favourites to clinch yet another domestic triumph: the FA Cup. The Cityzens however, face a potentially tricky clash against a side managed by a very familiar face on City ground: Kompany.
Kompany has seemingly ensured Burnley are destined for a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking after a stunning rapid-fire rebuild at Turf Moor. The Clarets are almost an unrecognisable side compared to the team who were relegated to the Championship. They will approach this clash full of confidence that comes with going undefeated in their last five games across all competitions.
The H2H between both sides shows this particular tie has been favourable to City more often than not. Burnley have only recorded a solitary win in 21 meetings with City and lost the last five, thus painting a very dire picture of the visitors chances against an extremely formidable City outfit.
PREDICTION: It’s practically unfathomable to envisage a win for the Clarets away at the Etihad Stadium, so we predict a combo option of a straight win for the hosts at ov. 2.5 goals scored (1 & ov. 2.5G) at 1.52 odds & also Phil Foden anytime scorer at @Bestbet360.
CHELSEA v EVERTON
Three consecutive wins in all competitions and three goals scored in their previous game for the first time since October 2022 have helped change the “aura” around a previously beleaguered Chelsea, who now seem to be in high spirits and will be gunning for their fourth straight win in all competitions when they host Everton this weekend at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues remain locked in the middle of the standings in 10th and are 11 points adrift of a Champions League berth, but showed a resilient performance in the 3-1 bashing of a struggling Leicester side last weekend.
Chelsea’s qualification for the Champions League next season by winning the 2022-23 edition is still a slim possibility thanks to their defeat of Borussia Dortmund in the last 16 but not to get ahead of themselves, the Graham Potter-led side will be more keen on bettering their form domestically and will have a go at it against the Toffees.
Meanwhile Sean Dyche’s own team in blue put Brentford to the sword 1-0 last and in the process claimed their second win in five league games in recent times.
The H2H between both sides in their last five meetings shows both teams have shared the spoils, recording two wins a-piece and playing out a draw in the previous meeting. The hosts won the reverse fixture 1-0 at Goodison Park earlier on in the season.
PREDICTION: It’s a tough call given how unpredictable Chelsea have been lately but given their new found confidence in the tactical set-up with 3 at the back, it’s safe to say Chelsea can do the double over Everton, so we predict a straight win for the home side at 1.46 odds @Bestbet360.
BORUSSIA DORTMUND v KOLN
Borussia Dortmund aim to get back to winning ways in the Bundesliga and close the gap between them and leaders Bayern Munich when they host Koln at the Westfalenstadion this weekend.
Die Schwarzgelben dropped points in the league for the first time this year, fumbling a one-goal lead twice to end up with a 2-2 draw against bitter rivals Schalke in the Reveirderby last week. This ensured Bayern moved back on top with a 2-point advantage following a comprehensive win over Augsburg.
Edin Terzic’s side also were knocked out of the UCL after a 2-nil defeat in the 2nd leg R16 tie against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, making sure the team are winless in their last two games in all competitions ahead of the meeting with Koln this weekend.
Steffen Baumgart’s side are winless in their last four league games, claiming their last win last month against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The H2H between both sides in their previous five clashes shows that the visitors have won twice, while Dortmund have just a single win and played out 2 draws in the other two games. Koln won the reverse fixture by 3-2 earlier on in the campaign.
PREDICTION: Dortmund currently are experiencing an injury crisis and are winless in their last two, but given how inconsistent Koln have been lately and Dortmund playing at home, we expect a couple of goals from both sides as the teams involved aren’t known to be airtight defensively, so we predict a GG outcome at 1.72 odds @Bestbet360.
ATHLETICO MADRID v VALENCIA
Diego Simone and his boys at Athletico Madrid will be gunning to extend their unbeaten run in La Liga to 10 games when they host relegation-threatened Valencia to the Wanda Metropolitanothis weekend.
Los Rojiblancos, ahead of this tie, occupy third spot on the standings and sit six points ahead of fifth-placed Real Betis, while beleaguered Valencia occupy 17th, level on points with 18th-placed Getafe in a crunch battle to stay afloat in the La Liga.
The Diego Simone-led side left it late against Girona last time in the league to claim a 1-0 win last time out, with the win being their fourth in five league games and will be aiming to pile on the misery for Valencia in an already torrid campaign for the visitors.
The ‘Che’ team have recorded two wins in their last 8, recording 6 losses in the process and face the looming danger of relegation to the second division is there isn’t an upturn in their fortunes.
The H2H between both sides in their previous five meetings shows this particular fixture has gone one way half the time as the hosts have won four and played out a draw against a Valencia team who are winless in the last five against their opponents. The reverse fixture ended in a 3-2 for Athletico who would aim to do the double.
PREDICTION: Given the rich vein of form Atletico Madrid are experiencing heading into this clash and although Valencia won their last game to take them out of the drop zone, only on a slightly superior goal difference, we predict Athletico Madrid’s unbeaten run will be extended with a win, so a home win at 1.59 odds @Bestbet360.
ARSENAL v CRYSTAL PALACE
Arsenal, fresh off their ouster from the UEFA Europa League, resume their Premier League charge looking to extend their gap at the summit to eight points over champions Manchester City when they host city rivals Crystal Palace at the Emirates stadium this weekend.
The Gunners fell out of yet another competition when they lost out 3-5 on penalties against Sporting Lisbon after playing out an enthralling 3-3 draw over the 2-legged encounter. The result means the London outfit will have to solely focus all their efforts on the Premier League and that resumes when they take on familiar foes Crystal Palace, whose former manager Patrick Viera is a club legend.
Viera has been handed his marching orders after the Eagles have found themselves 12th on the table having lost their last three league games and and are winless in their last 10 games in the league. The side have won only 6 games out of 27 so far in the league and are just 3 points above the drop zone with 27 points ahead of this crunch tie.
The H2H between both sides in their previous five meetings shows that the hosts slightly edge this meeting as they have claimed two wins, playing out two draws but lost once to Palace. The reverse tie ended in a 2-0 win for Arteta’s boys away at Selhurst Park earlier on in the campaign.
PREDICTION: Given the potential for a “new manager bounce” with Crystal Palace given the dismissal of Patrick Viera, the chances of an upset seem more realistic now more than ever. The last side that faced Arsenal after their previous manager was let go of was Everton. Sean Dyche recorded his first win as the Toffees gaffer under very shocking circumstances against Mikel Arteta’s boys, which explains why this could be a tricky tie for the hosts. With that being said, we predict a GG at 2.29 odds @Bestbet360.
