Sylvia’s End of season 2-odds winners

Want to Boom with Sylvia’s 130-odds this weekend? Here we go

Following the return of club football last weekend and midweek continental competitions, some teams have pleasantly impressed me and performed beyond my expectations. In the process, they reminded me of how rich they are in depth. While some seem to have gotten the wrong end of the stick especially with regards to continental competition.

I have taken those results into consideration for my ACCA predictions this weekend. May the odds be in our favour.

Arsenal v Newcastle United

Arsenal had been on a brilliant run of form until they met Liverpool, who were on a different level, and then crumbled to their knees.

Thankfully, a game at home against bottom placed and newly oil-rich Newcastle seems like the perfect game to bounce back. The absence of European commitments means they’ve found time to work towards that.

Newcastle on the other hand are yet to win a single game this season. They have six draws and six loses in all 12 games and performances don’t suggest there is redemption in sight. To make matters worse for the Magpies, Arsenal have a ridiculous dominant history against them with 18W, 2D and 2L under their belt. In fact, Newcastle haven’t scored against Arsenal since a 2-1 loss in September 2018. Both teams have an almost fully fit squad to select from on Saturday.

Arsenal have gotten good results against lowly clubs and in fact climbed the table on the back of their defensive record. Until Liverpool, they had conceded 13 times with eight of those coming against City, Chelsea and Tottenham.

Hence, I fancy Arsenal to maintain their dominance and keep a clean sheet in the process.

Liverpool v Southampton

On paper Liverpool have the advantage.

Liverpool will continue to chase Manchester City and Chelsea at the top of the table especially before key duo Mane and Salah jet off for the AFCON.

This weekend is an opportunity to go second especially with City not playing until Sunday. With a bit of luck and help for season surprise, West Ham, Liverpool may end the matchday in second place. West Ham were the ones that sent the Reds down to third place, so who knows?

Manchester City v West Ham United

If someone had said at the beginning of the season that West Ham will be just three points behind City and above Liverpool at this point of the season and deservedly so, many premier league fans would not have believed. Myself inclusive.

Historically, City have an overwhelming advantage on the Hammers, but this is that fixture that I won’t want to bank on that statistic because this West Ham side have an added confidence and high level experience about them. The only problem is that they conceded a lot even though they score a lot more but against City, will they be able to put score them?? They put scored the leagues highest goal scorers just weeks ago, can they do same against the third highest goal scorers and second best defence?? I doubt it. But I’ll be safe.

Chelsea v Manchester United

For some reason, I know Chelsea fans wanted to face United while Ole was in charge, however, although we aren’t exactly sure what to expect from Carrick’s United it’s difficult to see what he can throw up that Tuchel’s Chelsea won’t be able to deal with. Sounds like it’ll be a very exciting game.

Both fixtures last season ended in goalless draws which suggests that despite Tuchel’s magic turnaround, he couldn’t get the best of Solsjaer while doing the hat trick on Pep. Football is weird.

I expect Carrick to be pressure to send his team on the offensive and trust Chelsea to enjoy the space between the lines.

Tip: 1 & O1.5 @ 1.75 odds

Wolfsburg v Dortmund

The Yellow Submarines were surprisingly booted out of the Champions League in the group stage and will be looking to bounce back with a trip to Wolfsburg. A slip in that fixture will be widening the gap on the one point disadvantage behind Bayern.

Unfortunately, they’ll be expected to deal with that despite missing nine first team stars.

Wolfsburg on the other hand aren’t performing badly and are in sixth place and seven points behind the Saturday visitors. Based on stats available, Dortmund are overwhelming favorites to take this one, spurred on by the disappointing crash out in the champions league.

The hosts haven’t scored a goal against the visitors since September 2016.

Tip: 2 @ 2.40 odds

Bochum v Freiburg

Freiburg have surprisingly risen to the top of the table after an impressive start to the season. They’ve risen to third place and are nine points ahead of their Bochum.

The twist there is that Bochum have never dropped points to Freiburg in all their two meetings. But this Freiburg is a different squad.

It’s also worth noting that both sides are suffering a bad run of form. In fact, they both have an identical record in their last five matches with 2W, 1D and 2L. This is a difficult one as the result can go either way but we have you covered to Boom with Sylvia’s 130-odds

RB Leipzig v Bayer Leverkusen

Two high scoring teams clash in this Match Day 13 encounter. They’ve scored 23 and 25 goals respectively.

However, this will be another tight game especially as the traditional favourites, Leipzig have surprisingly under performed their visitors and have found themselves three points behind and out of European places.

They’ll know that a win will close that game and with home advantage in their favour, they stand a big chance of getting the desired result but injuries has meant they’ll have a limited squad to pick from.

I’ll rather predict on the goals, to be safer.

Tip: GG First Half or GG second half @ 1.81 odds

Juventus v Atalanta

Off the back of a historic European whopping, the Old Lady will be fired and Atalanta, despite their edge in the league, will most likely fall victim to the injury Chelsea caused on Tuesday.

Four points separate the sides and Atalanta are the joint third highest scoring side so it’s normal to expect goals from them. However, against a defence marshaled by Chiellini, it won’t be business as usual. And I infact fancy a home victory but I’ll play it safe for the sake of an ACCA green.

Tip: 1x @ 1.34 odds

Burnley v Tottenham

Antonio Conte should have had enough time to transmit some of his energy to his Spurs players after all these weeks. The second half turnaround last weekend was proof that he can have an impact.

Burnley don’t seem to stand a chance here simply because of the Conte factor.

I fancy Spurs to do the job from the first blast of the whistle without having to wait got a halftime hair dryer.
