Surprises. Upsets. Records. Shock. Any of those words can be used as a theme to describe the FIFA Women’s World Cup so far.

For the first time ever, three out of four African countries have made it to the knockout stage of the competition with debutants, Morocco, making the third country after Afrobeats Nigeria and Amampiano South Africa. That’s success for our continent.

This development will leave predictions even more tricky but let’s get right into it. May Lady Luck favour us.

DJURGAARDEN v MALMÖ FF

Action in the Swedish Allsvenskan continues this weekend with a huge clash on the books as Djurgaarden will aim to make it a third consecutive league win when the side play hosts to second placed Malmö FF at the Tele2 Arena.

Traveling Malmo, ahead of this clash sit second on the standings, one point behind league leaders Elfsborg following a 2-1 defeat to Mjaellby, while hosts Djurgaarden claimed a hard fought 2-1 victory over Vaernamo to extend their undefeated run to seven games.

The head to head record between both teams shows that of the 26 clashes they’ve had, Djurgården has won one more time with 11 wins and Malmö FF has won 10 times, while 5 fixtures between Djurgården and Malmö FF have ended in stalemates.

PREDICTION: The hosts currently enjoy a rich run of form and are progressing up the league table. The side are playing well on their home turf, having won 7 out of 8 games but will however face a resilient Malmö outfit with ambitions of their own. This game promises lots of action and with goals too, so we expect a “goal fest”, hence we predict an outcome with over 2.5 goals (ov. 2.5G) at 1.72 odds @Bestbet360.

MACCABI HAIFA v HAMRUN SPARTANS

A chance at continental involvement presents itself for two sides as Maccabi Haifa prepare for their UEFA Champions League qualifiers second-leg affair against Maltan side Hamrun Spartans at Sammy Ofer Stadium.

The first leg bizarrely ended in a convincing 4-0 win for visitors Maccabi Haifa who are the favourites heading into the second leg of the qualifiers on their home turf.

Luciano Zauri’s side will hope to overcome the seemingly insurmountable odds stacked against them when they travel to face the Israeli champions while Messay Diego’s side will aim to land the “killing blow” to their opposition, in front of their home crowd.

PREDICTION: Maltan champions Hamrun Spartans will require nothing short of a miracle to undo the damage incurred following the heavy first leg defeat to Maccabi Haifa and given the fact the side will prosecute this fixture away from home, we feel this tie can go either way, hence we predict a combo option of double chance for either side with over 2.5 goals scored (12 & ov. 2.5) at 1.36 odds @Bestbet360.

ELFSBORG v IFK GOTHENBURG

Two teams with contrasting fortunes square off this weekend in the Swedish Allsvenskan as first (1) place Elfsborg welcome fifteenth (15) placed IFK GOTHENBURG to the Boraas Arena.

League leaders Elfsborg have lost 1 of their previous 12 league games, with their most recent domestic win being a 4-0 thumping of Kalmar FF, while the visitors suffered a 2-1 defeat to bottom side Varbergs BolS FC and have picked up only eight points from their first 14 games this term.

Heading into this tie, Elfsborg have the league’s best defensive record and welcome a Gothenburg side who have scored just three times across their seven trips on the road to date and have lost four of their last five games.

The H2H record between both sides in their last five games shows why the hosts are firm favorites; Elfsborg have won the last five clashes against Gothenburg who seemingly appear out of sorts of late.

PREDICTION: The hosts have won 11 of their last 12 league games and they have scored 2.7 goals per home game, the side have also won by at least two goals in each of their home victories so far this season. We feel this particular clash will most likely churn out a victory for the home side, so we predict a combo option of a home win with over 1.5 goals (1 & ov. 1.5 G) at 1.37 odds @Bestbet360.

BODØ/GLIMT v FK HAUGESUND

The Norwegian Eliteserien is in full swing with action this weekend as table toppers Bodø/Glimt play hosts to 11th-placed FK Haugesund at the Aspmyra Stadion.

The hosts enjoy an 8-point lead at the summit and recorded a 2-0 win over Odds Ballklubb in their previous league game while the visitors succumbed to a 2-0 to Viking; their second defeat in five games.

Knutsen side’s recent exploits saw them book their place in the Norwegian cup semifinal and are in fine form ahead of this clash against a struggling Haugesund outfit.

The head to head record between both sides shows that of the 16 meetings they’ve had, FK Bodø/Glimt has claimed 7 wins and Haugesund has won 5 times. Meanwhile, 4 fixtures between FK Bodo – Glimt and Haugesund ended in a draw.

PREDICTION: Keen to consistently exert their dominance atop the Eliteserien standings, Bodø/Glimt will hope to claim maximum points on home soil against their opposition, so we expect a win for the hosts coupled with a shortage of goals, hence we predict an outcome with under 4.5 goals (un. 4.5G) at 1.33 odds @Bestbet360.

SHENZEN FC v SHANGHAI PORT

Action in the Chinese Super League continues this weekend as top vs bottom face off with league leaders Shanghai Port heading on the road to visit bottom side Shenzen FC at the Shenzen Universiade Sports Centre.

The hosts have endured a painful losing streak of five league games, with the most recent defeat being a 5-0 bashing at the hands of Qingdao Hainiu while the hosts, in sharp contrast are undefeated in their last five league games, winning three and playing out two draws.

Shanghai Port claimed a 3-1 win over Wuhan Three Towns to extend their advantage over the chasing pack by 6 points heading into this clash.

Both side’s head to head record in their last 5 meetings shows Shenzhen have failed to win any game while Shanghai SIPG have won all 5 times without playing a draw.

PREDICTION: There seems to be a clear disparity between the forms and general performance of both teams as the visitors have not lost 9 of their previous encounters on the road and are undefeated in 7 games against their hosts, so we feel this game may just “go according to plan” for Shanghai Port so we predict a combo option of a win for the away side at over 2.5 goals (2 & ov. 2.5G) at 1.28 odds @Bestbet360.

BoomBankers 24-odds Home ACCA

The Boom Banker makes a return with 24 odds Home Wins ACCA on a weekend when the Bulgaria Parva Liga and the Romania Liga 1 become the first set of Europe’s lower leagues to return to league action for the 2023/24 season.

With the limited number of games to choose from, the Boom Banker’s well researched Home Wins selections for this ‘exciting weekend of football actions’ are largely drawn from the lower leagues across Europe, Asia and South America.

Let’s play along!

BK HACKEN  VS  BROMMAPOJKARNA

Reigning champions Hacken will be looking to boost their hopes of defending their title when they face Brommapojkarna in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Saturday.

Hacken claimed their first Allsvenskan championship last season and they are in the mix to defend their title thanks largely to a potent attack that has scored 38 times in 15 league games this term – the most of any side in the division.

That attacking quality was further showcased during the first leg of their Champions League first qualifying round tie on Wednesday night when they beat The New Saints 3-1 – a result that extended their unbeaten run in competitive matches to six games, five of which have ended in victory.

However, Hacken did concede against their Welsh opponents meaning they are without a clean sheet in four of those six matches.

Brommapojkarna will head into this game looking to avoid a fourth-successive Allsvenskan defeat, but that won’t be easy considering their last league visit to Hacken ended in a 6-0 drubbing.

The visitors have at least scored in two of their three defeats over recent weeks and they will fancy their chances of getting on the scoresheet against Hacken’s less than watertight backline.

That could be as good as it gets though for Olof Mellberg’s team and Hacken should win this one.

This is unlikely to be anything other than a home win for Hacken at 1.23 odds on BestBet360.

ELFSBORG VS  GOTEBORG

This clash pits first against 15th, with IFK Goteborg sat second-bottom in the Swedish Allsvenskan going into this weekend. The visitors have picked up only eight points from their first 14 games this term and they make this trip having lost four of their last five games.

The visitors have the league’s joint-worst away record and no side has secured fewer points across the last eight games. Elfsborg lead both the form table and the league table and they look to be getting stronger by the week, which is ominous for the strugglers.

Elfsborg had a rocky start with just a point and no goals scored across their first two games, but since they kicked into gear they haven’t looked back. The hosts have won 11 of their last 12 league games and they have scored 2.7 goals per home game.

Elfsborg boast the league’s best defensive record and they meet a Goteborg side who have scored just three times across their seven trips to date. The visitors look set to be outclassed and Elfsborg head into this one as odds-on-favourites.

The hosts have won by at least two goals in each of their home victories so far this term and Goteborg have already lost 4-1 at third-placed Hacken this season.

Elfsbrog to secure a routine home win comes at 1.31 odds on BestBet360.

VISSEL KOBE  VS SAGAN TOSU

Vissel Kobe will be looking to continue their push for top spot in the Japanese J1 League when they take on Sagan Tosu at Noevir Stadium Kobe on Sunday evening.

The hosts are in second place, having taken 40 points from their opening 19 games, while the visitors are firmly rooted in mid-table, currently sitting in eighth.

Vissel Kobe have taken huge strides this season, having finished in 13th place in the previous campaign, and they have a fantastic recent record against Sunday’s opponents, which should give them confidence heading into the match.

Ushi have won each of the last four matches between the two sides without conceding a goal, winning the reverse fixture at the Ekimae Real Estate Stadium 1-0 earlier this season.

As such, Sagan Tosu face a very tough test this weekend, but their recent form has been promising, having collected 10 points from their last five games, the joint-third highest total of any side in the division.

Inconsistency has been a real issue for Sagan, having failed to win consecutive J1 league games all season, but they are on an upward trend at the moment, winning two of their last three games, including a 6-0 thrashing of Shonan Bellmare in their last away trip.

As things stand, Kenta Kawai’s side are 10 points behind third-placed Nagoya, with just under half of the season left to play, meaning they could still make a push for the AFC Champions League qualification places, but they would have to go on a very good run of form.

Although Sagan Tosu have improved recently, they succumbed to a 4-3 defeat against Roasso Kumamoto after extra time in their last match, having conceded a 90th-minute equaliser, exiting the Emperor’s Cup at the round of 16 stage.

Vissel Kobe have been fantastic so far this season, particularly defensively, having conceded the fewest goals of any team in the division. As such, it is  expected that the hosts will emerge as narrow winners, keeping the pressure on top-of-the-table Yokohama F Marinos.

Vissel Kobe to win at 1.53 odds on BestBet360 comes handy.

LILLESTROM  vs SANDEFJORD

Lillestrom will be aiming to quickly bounce back from the departure of their former head coach Geir Bakke when they host Sandejford on Sunday.

The visitors, meanwhile, must avoid defeat at worst if they are to have any chance of moving outside of the relegation zone this weekend.

Having finished fourth for two seasons running since bouncing back from Norway’s second tier at the first attempt in 2020, Lillestrom will be hoping to make their games in hand count by moving up the table across the coming weeks.

However, Bakke – who had been in charge during the club’s promotion campaign, as well as their recent strong seasons in the Eliteserien – surprisingly left for Valerenga Futbol earlier this week, leaving Simon Mesfin and former Liverpool defender Frode Kippe to share interim duties.

Lillestrom had returned to winning ways in dramatic fashion in Bakke’s last match in charge, with Akor Adams equalising against Rosenborg in the 85th minute, before the forward snatched all three points in the second minute of injury-time.

Sandejford, meanwhile, are aiming to avoid relegation once again after overcoming Kongsvinger 5-2 on aggregate in last season’s relegation play-offs.

Having lost five of their previous six matches prior to hosting Stabaek last time out, Tegstrom and Odegaard Senior may have been content with seeing their side play out a goalless draw, and they would likely settle for a similar result on Sunday.

Sandejford will likely be aiming to keep things tight once again after their goalless draw last time out, with avoiding defeat likely to be their main target from this match.

However, while Lillestrom face uncertainty off the pitch, they should be full of confidence after coming from behind to beat Rosenborg last time out, and we can envisage them claiming another tight victory.

Backing Lillestrom to secure a comfortable home win at 1.29 odds on BestBet360.

BoomBanker’s 27-odds Home Wins ACCA

The Boom Banker returns this weekend with 27 odds Home Wins ACCA amidst the exciting football actions slated for the weekend across lower leagues in Europe, especially as Europe’s top leagues continue to observe the summer break.

With the limited number of games to choose from, the Boom Banker‘s well researched Home Wins selections for this exciting weekend of football action are largely drawn from the lower leagues across Europe and America.

Let’s play along!

ULSAN HYUNDAI FC VS DAEGU FC

Ulsan Hyundai and Daegu battle for three points in this South Korean K1 League fixture on Saturday.

Ulsan Hyundai demolished Jeju in their last match by scoring five goals. They are at the top of the table and will aim for all three points as they play host to sixth placed Daegu.

On the other hand, Daegu defeated their rivals Suwon by 3-1 in their last match. This victory helped them reach sixth on the table.

Ulsan are the runaway league leaders and will look for a win to consolidate their grip on top spot.

The Tigers are the defending champions and enter the game as strong favourites. Daegu, meanwhile, have odds stacked against them, with Ulsan not losing at home this term.

The most important point to note is that the hosts have won four of the last five meetings against this team. These two teams last met back in May and the hosts won that game by scoring three goals. It has been nearly five years since the last time Daegu won this fixture at Ulsan Munsu Football Stadium.

This is unlikely to be anything other than a home win for Ulsan Hyundai at 1.52 odds on BestBet360.

FLUMINENSE VS BAHIA

Fluminense will be seeking to extend Bahia’s woes on the road in this Saturday’s Brazilian Serie A action.

Bahia make this trip on Saturday night with a poor record on their travels of late. They’ve failed to score across their last four away games in all competitions, while in Serie A they’ve already suffered defeats to the three teams directly above them in the table.

This weekend brings a visit to a Fluminense side who have made a strong start, sitting just outside the top four having gone unbeaten at home to date. The hosts have conceded only three times across their first five home league games, so they should hold firm against a blunt Bahia outfit.

Fluminense have had the edge in recent clashes between these two sides, having won four of their last five encounters with Bahia. On top of that, the visitors have lost to nil in each of their last three visits to Fluminense.

The hosts have tended to see plenty of low-scoring home games this term, with under 2.5 landing in four of their five games so far. However, they’ve scored twice in each of their home wins this term and Bahia look unable to make much of an impact at the other end. Fluminense is a good value for a victory.

Fluminense to win at 1.56 odds on BestBet360 comes handy.

PHILADELPHIA UNION VS INTER MIAMI

Seeking to avoid a third successive MLS game without a win, Philadelphia Union play host to Eastern Conference basement club Inter Miami at Subaru Park on Sunday.

The visitors, meanwhile, are experiencing a torrid run of form as they are hoping to end a six-game losing streak.

Following a 10-day break from competitive action, Philadelphia came from behind twice to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw away against Orlando City on Thursday.

Hopes of Philadelphia retaining their Eastern Conference title appear to be slim as they find themselves 12 points behind league leaders Cincinnati just past the halfway stage; Indeed, five points dropped in the Union’s last two matches has seen the gap increase this month.

While many will assume that Jim Curtin’s side should have few problems returning to winning ways against a struggling Inter Miami outfit, Sunday’s fixture may not be a cakewalk as they have won just one of their last five meetings with the Herons and have failed to win their last two encounters against them on home soil.

Philadelphia boast a strong home record so far this season, though, as they have accumulated 20 points from nine MLS games at Subaru Park, winning six times, drawing twice and losing just once – a 2-1 defeat to Orlando back in March.

Inter Miami can draw optimism from their victory over Philadelphia earlier this season, but keeping the ball out of the net has been one of the main factors behind their downfall since then, and they may struggle to cope with a lethal Union attack, which has scored in 10 of the last 11 games, on Sunday.

Backing Philadelphia Union to secure a comfortable home win at 1.42 odds on BestBet360.

LOS ANGELES FC VS VANCOUVER WHITECAPS

The Vancouver Whitecaps will have another opportunity to claim their first road victory of the 2023 MLS campaign when they battle Los Angeles FC on Saturday at BMO Stadium.

On Wednesday, the Black and Gold moved back into first place in the Western Conference thanks to a 1-0 victory over the Seattle Sounders, while the Caps’ match versus the Colorado Rapids was postponed because of thunderstorms in the area.

Since late May, Los Angeles FC had been going through a rough patch, losing the CONCACAF Champions League final and going winless in six successive matches in all competitions from May 23 to June 14.

Like a true champion though, Steve Cherundolo has seen his players snap out of that funk, scoring a winner in the 90th minute in a comeback win over Sporting Kansas City (2-1) and following that up with a goal in the opening minute on Wednesday to defeat the Sounders.

Throughout most of this campaign, LA have been sharp on the back end with four clean sheets on home soil and are currently tied with FC Cincinnati for the second-fewest goals conceded in MLS this year (16).

LAFC have only suffered one defeat in the regular season and playoffs at BMO Stadium since June of last year, falling 1-0 to the Houston Dynamo a couple of weeks ago.

Vancouver came into their midweek encounter on the back of a four-match unbeaten run, but unfortunately, mother nature prevented them from potentially making it five. They will enter this game without an away victory in 15 successive regular season fixtures, a streak that goes back to July 2022.

Throughout the 2023 campaign, the Caps have had no answer when facing the high-octane LAFC offence, as they seem intimidated by the physicality and quality of the Black and Gold.

Los Angeles FC to secure a routine home win comes at 1.55 odds on BestBet360.
