Sylvia’s End of season 2-odds winners

Welcome to the weekend of what’s set to be the most watched FIFA Women’s World Cup so far.

Irrespective of the Premier League being back and some high profile clashes set to take place this weekend, it’s the game on Sunday at the Stadium Australia, Sydney, Australia that has me and millions of other football fans around the world buzzing.

Let me not get to excited writing about just that game, let’s get right into the predictions and as usual, may the odds favour our persistence.

Liverpool v Bournemouth

Tip: Home to score both halves @ 1.56 odds

Tottenham v Manchester United

If Tottenham still had Harry Kane available for selection going into this game, against blunder-waiting-to-happen Onana, I would have had the home side a goal up even before kickoff.

Tip: Away to score both halves @ 2.75 odds

Almeria v Real Madrid

Tip: Away to score both halves @ 1.97 odds

Inter Milan v Monza

Inter failed to win any of the two games against this side last season, managing just one point in that time. The advantage the hosts have is that this would be the very first game of the season. Perhaps, Monza won’t be up for it yet while players in the Inter jersey would be hoping to make their mark and avoid getting replaced before the end of the window.

Tip: 1&O1.5 1.42 odds

São Paulo v Botafogo

Tip: x2 @ 1.65 odds

Wolves v Brighton

Tip: 2 @ 1.89 odds

Manchester City v Newcastle

Tip: GG @ 1.59 odds

Bayer Leverkusen v RB Leipzig

Tip: GG @ 1.51 odds

Borussia Dortmund v Cologne

Tip: 1 @ 1.45 odds

Augsburg v Borussia Monchengladbach

Tip: NG @ 2.52 odds

Aston Villa v Everton

Tip: U2.5 @ 1.87 odds

West Ham v Chelsea

Tip: 2 @ 2.13 odds

Spain v England

These two women’s football powerhouses will be facing each other for the fourth time in three years. They have equally shared the spoils although Spain who have come this far despite a severely fractured dressing room have had it worse. Although the Spaniards defeated the Lionesses in the knockout round of the SheBelieves cup in 2020, they lost the final of the European Championship 2:1 in what was a heartbreaking defeat. They’ll be hoping to draw blood this time around. England with their fantastic manager, Sarina Wiegman who has been described as the Pep Guardiola of women’s football looks hungry and rearing to go.

If I didn’t opt to play safe, I would have put the money on England to do the double against their fellow Europeans.
